Bermuda - where to stay?

Hi all,
we are going to Bermuda in May with our one year old. I am looking for any recommendations you might have for a hotel or apartment. Ideally we would have at least half-board not to have to cook all meals, and would be nice to have a creche for the baby for some times.

I would also welcome advice on which part of island to stay on.

thanks a lot

Anorak should get commission from the Bermuda tourist board.

I'll link to this on the US thread where she often posts so she knows you need help.

Hi my brother lives over there too (we're going in June for his wedding) so can ask his opinion on places too.

It depends how much you want to spend, Accommodation is not cheap. The Fairmont Hotels are probably the most convenient and best standard overall. One is in the town easy for all restaurants shops and buses and the one by south beach they do have a complimentary hotel ferry you can get to use facilities in each place. Unless you get a good deal I wouldn't bother with half board as so many great restaurants that wont be too expensive.

You can't hire cars on the island so you will need to rely on buses or taxis.

If you can get in touch with a resident there you can request a local resident rate which will be much cheaper but you will need a Bermuda address.

I could go on with more info but you may be already sorted. Its a fantastic place enjoy.

Hello, sorry I've only just seen this. Please CAT me Suslik if I can help you in any way.

If you stay in the Hamilton area there are lots of very good restaurants to choose from and you can get to everything easily. Only there are no beach hotels in the city. You will have to stay elsewhere if you want the beach to be walking distance.
