Never bothered with swimwear for the kids before but we are off to the US and I think they may expect clothing

Younger one will still need a nappy on

Are swimsuits with a built in nappy ok or a pain to use?

I don't bother with those tbh, they don't work and just fill with water. Just use swim nappies they are much better and fit well under, say an all in one stretchy sunsuit or stretchy swim bottoms.

Do you mean use disposable swim nappies or the reusable ones?

Oh I never realised there were reusable ones, we can't get them here. I just use disposable ones, tbh most of the time we don't use anything underneath , but if they are at the pool they have to have bathers on.

Disposable ones assuming they havent been poo'ed in can be left out to dry and used 4 or 5 times without any problems.

I was wondering whether a 2 piece for a boy would be better than an all in one as it would be easier to get on/off?

Themasterandmargaritas · 30/03/2009 17:23

I am currently debating the whole one/two piece thing at the moment geordie, the one piece is actually very easy to get on especially as it doesn't have to go over their heads, the two piece is a nightmare over the heads (esp if they have big ones) and often rides up leaving bits of back/tummy exposed to sunburn when there is a lot of in the pool/out the pool type of action.

Themasterandmargaritas · 30/03/2009 17:24

But the two piece is easier for dealing with nappies, i meant to add!

I'm confused about two-pieces for boys - are you talking about sunsuits?

Yeah, a swimming t-shirt and shorts

We had 1 piece sunsuits for ds1 until he was 2 1/2 then went for the 2 piece which is much easier for toiletting him in!
