I'm thinking of making a last minute dash to the sun with 3 DCs and no DP, any recommendations?

DD1 is 8 and DTs are 4. I'm not sure I am brave enough to fly with them on my own but its Easter holidays and we were looking forward to going away. DP can't come as he has just started new job. I've woken up today with a change of heart (and desperation for warmth) and I'm thinking of taking them on my own.

I don't want to have to drive when I'm there. I do drive abroad but usually only on roads I know well and/or with DP.

Any thoughts or pearls of wisdom?

DP has a new job so I'm happy to spend his new salary

Cyprus
Egypt
Morocco

All love children - Cyprus could be a bit chilly though.

www.fourseasons.com in Sharm is lovely with childcare.

Oooh lala!

I think with my wardrobe (and lack of) I'd be best in posh self catering rather than posh hotel......looks fabaroonie though.

Thank you, I'll do a search on flights to Egypt and see how brave I'd have to be and for how long

There's a Mark Warner resort there too - although so not my cup of tea!

Tunisia, loads to do, don't need a car, beaches are lovely

frumpygrumpy · 26/03/2009 11:08

Don't think I fancy Mark Warner either........I'll search for small villas......

Never been to Tunisia.....

I am going to Tunisia in September!

PinkTulips · 26/03/2009 11:12

there's a gorgeous hotel in tunisia that's right on the beach, has a petting zoo, indoor and outdoor pools and is full inclusive.

it's an iberostar hotel but i'm not sure which one... give me a second and i'll see if i can find it again

Cyprus is fab at that time of year, we went Easter last year (which was end of March) and was lovely and hot every day and still warm enough to sit out most nights with a cardi on

tigerdriver · 26/03/2009 11:13

We went there this time of year two years ago and again that October half term. Weather was nice, not roasting but certainly sunny. First time we stayed at a nice hotel in Port el Kantouai. Lots to do there, and lots of easy day trips if you want them. Second time we hired a car and travelled all over the country, which was great but only for the brave (stopped by Algerian border cops for example).

We are hiring a car - and are brave!

we had a trip here booked a couple of years ago but had to put the money towards a last minute opportunity to move house.... still regret not being able to go
