I like to think that I'm a reasonably savvy traveller but this one has stumped me. If you have booked with Ryanair now (to fly after 1 May when apparently the rules change again) to check in online but I add a bag each way for hold luggage, do I have to pay more to check in at the airport or is this accounted for in the extra bag price? Or is there a drop zone for bags only? Flying Stansted- Porto if that helps.

I don't want to get it wrong as whenever I fly with Ryanair something nearly ends up going tits up so to speak.

Btw the flights are booked now but for cabin baggage only. I want to add a hold bag if possible, in case my OP was unclear .

No idea, but I would read the finest of their fine print on the web site and try and work it out. I bet it costs...I've given up checking Ryan air flights as they always come out more expensive, and even if they didnt' the hassle, length of time to book and the irritation factor mean I can't be bothered.

dunno if this helps but the sunday mail had an article all about ryanair and how to avoid paying over the odds for all the extras.. i think that when you book online before 1st may you can still check in at the airport. and will be able to until october, if you have already paid to take luggage when you booked you shouldnt have to pay again unless you take extra bags, remember to use your kids allowance for hand luggage, we use this for car seats. then myself and DH have a rucksack, and pay to put 2 siutcases in the hold. hope you understand my waffle..

I've booked flights to Pisa in June. Have booked online check in and checked baggage. Assumene that there's a baggage drop at Liverpool airport.

I hate Ryanair and all the extras you get forced to add. However they are usually very punctual and were £100 cheaper than Jet2 from Manchester, even with all the extras added on.

Hiya,

Travel with Ryanair frequently between Standsted and Dublin. Had to add a bag over Xmas and I was charged 1. to add the bag and 2. for airport check-in (added an extra £36 onto an £18 flight) Can't complain through, no other airlines could fly you to Dublin and back for £52 return...

Good luck
