Ha s anyone stayed here and which would they consider best - a 2 storey or 1 storey villa. Which are the nicest?

Hi! Do you mean Periyali in Zakynthos ? We went a couple of years ago and contemplating going again this year. Its a lovely place - I would definitely recommend the one storey if you're oging in the summer. The two storey ones don't have aircon upstairs !

We are going in May, poss Penelope (?) villa which may be 2 story - hoping it won't be too hot then.

Wheelybug · 23/03/2009 15:30

We stayed in Penelope marmaduke - it'll be fine in May I think. We stayed there last wk of Aug, first week of Sept and the August week was unbearably hot at night in the top room so we all bunked in together (was only me, DH and DD1 then) but by the second week it was ok. I would just avoid the 2 storeys in July/Aug.

We are going in June and since inquiring it turns out there is only Auriana available whic is 2 storey.

Wheelybug - I have read your reviews which sealed the deal for me.

Any idea what kind of temp to expect in June - we are going 7th - 21st?

Could possibly go earlier though and get single storey.

I have got the villa on hold until tomorrow and am SOOOOOOO excited about it

Arrgh, no pressure then - hope it lives up to the review. Don't hunt me down if you don't enjoy it.

I'll be after you like some crazed unhappy tourist if it's no good

I haven't read wheelybug's review

I have to say I am very impressed so far with the service. My 4.5 yr ls DS has SN and I want him to do a few mornings in the creche (I am his main carer and I need a break, before anyone flames me for farming my child out) and the manager from Athens called me to discuss his needs and match him with the best nanny to suit his requirements.

He will be given his own nanny when it is normally 1 to 3 - yes I am paying a tad more but not 3 places. The Nanny is going to call me 2 weeks before hol to get more idea of what he likes/dislikes and how to communicate with him.

hillbilly · 24/03/2009 13:03

No flaming here MS! We will use the creche for the first week only(mornings) for dd (3.11) and DS (1.6) and then all hang together the following week.

Can't wait!

Ooh blimey - might have to go and delete the review if people are actually reading it .

DO use the creche - DD was 2.5 when we went and not used to child care at all but we booked afternoons with the view she could go in a couple of times or for an hour or so and she loved it so much she was begging to go in all the time. So no flaming here either - and you probably need the rest even more.

In fact, the reason why we think we probably won't go again this year is that dd2 will only be 4 months old and too young to be left in a creche so we'll probably plan to go next year when she'll be old enough and we can enjoy the afternoon's relaxing on our own.

When we were there we used to spend mornings on one of the beaches which are very child friendly - v. shallow for a long way out and then give dd her lunch take her to creche, have a leisurely lunch at the pool bar and relax in the afternoon. Lovely !
