Any suggestions? or places to avoid?
family of 3, dd age 4
All of us a bit boring, like our own company and privacy.
We enjoy leisurely pursuits and sight seeing, soaking up local life, simple stuff really.
Shamefaced and toe-curlingly akward in sunbathing-swimming attire so would like to avoid shared pool.

Any ideas ?

You will love it, went for the first time last year and cant wait to go back.

Pollensa is inland, and Puerto Pollensa is coastal. If you are prepared to hire a car you can stay in a quiet villa in Pollensa and drive to the beach.

Puerto Pollensa is so lovely, Pine Walk stunning to walk along (but pricey to stay on!!).

There are loads of companies to hire villas from. Check out puertopollensa.com as well. Do you collect tesco vouchers?? If so, you can use them with a company called individualtravellers.com who do lovely villas in Pollensa and Puerto Pollensa.

Enjoy.

Ruthie, thankyou very much. That's so helpful.
I think coastal would be better.
YES to tesco points....I have about £200 worth in deals.

pell hurries to look at individualtravellers.com>>>>>>>>>>>>>

pellmell.. if you need any more info let me know.

Pine Walk area is generally more pricey, but would be a fabulous area to stay. Pinaret is a lovely quiet area about 10 min walk to centre. Gommar and Lenaire are about 15 mins walk.

Depends on your budget!!

Thanks again Ruthie.
We have decided to enjoy a couple of uk holidays this year and have a 2 week holiday to majorca next year.Dh and I can celebrate our 40th birthdays without friends even knowing.....let alone organising some practical joke etc etc!
I have just spoken to a lovely lady from Cottages4you (mumsnet discount partner) who has put in a request form for me. The website is not live for 2010 bookings yet but I wanted to ensure we get the villa we want (based mainly on budget) The price comes out at £1138 for 2 weeks.
We will just have to arrange flights and car hire etc.

Pellmell- that sounds like a good deal.

We are having a couple of UK holidays this year, then back to PP next year hopefully. We are both 40 this year so have a couple of weekends away planned (a spa weekend for mine and Paris for Hubbys) without the kids.

Enjoy your holidays.
