Anti malaria tabs for Mexico?

Going to Cozumel in may.

Do we need malaria tabs?.We aren't planning on going into jungle territory but do plan on travelling around the island.Have 2 children (6 and 14).

Dh says no we don't (seasoned traveller)-just to take a suitcase full of anti mozz sprays.Tried googling but came up with mixed views on it.

Thanks.

I didn't take any for Mexico, but I do try and avoid taking them.

Have a fun holiday

Thanks mung ,dh is of the same idea and I have heard they make you feel bloody awful (I would take if high risk of course).

They can be seriously horrid to take- I've had no issues in the past but friends have hallucinated or become really photosensitive (awful if somewhere hot!!). For Mexico I wouldn't bother, just take usual mozzie precautions. As long as you're not wading through swamps etc you'll be fine. Have fun, am very ! Buy lots of nice silver jewellery!
