Gran Canaria in Winter?

We are thinking about going to Gran Canaria in November or February.

What is the weather like then? Will we be able to sit by the pool every day, or is it too chilly for that? TIA

We went last week in Jan and 1st in Feb - Apart from 1 day it was sunny - at times windy but we managed to get tucked away from the wind at hotel pool when it was too bad at the beach. It was cool when the sun went down but not cold . It was quiet but we were not after wild nightlife . We would go back out of season !

Could you sit by the pool in swimwear and go in the pool Rosa? (that sounds a bit of an odd question haha!)

My friend has just come back from Lanzarote and she said it was too chilly to use the pool which has put me off.

The pool was heated which made a difference. Yes we sat by the pool - I sat daily between 1.30 - 3 ish when dd was asleep. A couple of times I sat in cloud but I was still in a costume ! We then usually took her to the pool for a dip . The baby pool and some parts of the main pool were sheltered as if you were in the wind it could have been chilly. We had a few days when on the beach it was in the high 20s with a gentle breeze - bliss.

Thanks, I will look for a hotel with a heated pool. What part of Gran Canaria did you go to?

Quiet is fine, its just for me and DH to relax.

my mum goes every February, first week. It's usually 68-73, often sunny, maybe just the one overcsst or windy day.

She sits on teh beach all day. Although she is Scottish and by late afternoon it is just her and her pal left on teh beach.

We went to the Rui Palace in Maspalomas it is on the edge of Playa del Americas so you are right on the edge of the in zone if you want ( walksing distance) if we went back we would go to Meleronas however as it had much better beach access and the taxis were so cheap anyway.

November and February should be fine, warm but not too hot. I lived there for six years and only went in the sea in the summer - too cold for me but then I guess I got used to the heat!!
