Have found some gites in south of france for between £280 and £370 per week in April school hols. Flights approx. £500 in total.Add in carhire. Do you think it would be worth going , the aim being to have a relaxing holiday in relative comfort(ie no cramped mobile home)(warm accommodation) (decent bathroom etc)BUT I also am hoping fora steady warm temperature, if not roasting hot I know at that time of year, but do you think it would besignificantly warmer than UK with some days sunny enough to even sunbathe.....or am I being unrealistic.

I know it would be cheaperto go to near the north coast and take a car, but the whole point is that bnorthern France willbe just the same climate as UK.

All cheap Spanish /Mediterranean holidays are at horrible looking really touristy places which I know would be worse for me than staying at home.

I think that April is one of those months that can be a bit "hit or miss" in the South of France.

We've got a villa in the Languedoc and visit the area quite frequently. We were told that this weekend the temp was in the low 20s whereas when we were there last Easter (end Mar?) the weather wasn't great.

However, we're going again this Easter and are hoping for decent weather - at least t-shirt temps.

They do get a lot more sun than in the UK so even if it isn't warm at least the skies are usually blue which makes me feel better!!

It will almost definitely be better than the UK.

Am in St Raphael where it is a balmy 22° today. April is normally good but it is not a cert I'm afraid.
