Ok, we are aiming for our first family holiday for 3 years and after holidaying in UK up to now want some warmth..... 3 boys (14, 14 and 10), DH and myselft

I went to Menorca last year and loved it so could try that again, but where we might stay although it has a pool hasn't much else on without getting in a car for a bit.

There's a possibility of staying in an apartment in Puerto Banus (Menorra Beach I think) which looks like it might be better for children. Less need for a car by the look of it.

The problem of course is money - we want a week (4-11 July), and ideally to fly from Bristol or Birmingham - we could go to PB in May half term when the apt is cheaper but flights make it really pricy. Even being quite strict and getting a good deal on the two possibles (friends of friends houses....) we're looking at at least £1500.

Can all you well travelled people help me with ideas (not just countries but actual resorts - is Croatia worth looking at). We'd prefer apartment or villa, but hotels not a complete no no as long as they're not huge and am I being unrealistic budget wise - £2000 sounds like a huge amount of money, I, like everyone, wants to spend as little as possible.....! I've looked at camping/mobile home hols, but they don't look that much cheaper - but again don't want to rule it out, and ferries are not easy to get to either (live near mid Wales border. HELP PLEASE!

we're going back here again this year it's so fantastci - evreything on the doorstep!! Your DS's will love all the sports things they organise and it's pretty cheap as you can BBQ every evening! You def don't need to hire a car as the site is on the direct bus route from venice and the airport - bus stops directly outside terminal and is more of a coach than a bus IYKWIM. V helpful drivers who put your luggage in the boot! Site ahs golf buggies to take you to your accom. You can go everywhere by local bus and the stop is right outside main gate. Pools and beach are fab and you can wlk into town in about 5 - 10 mins thru a pine forest. I've booked with canvas cos I could pay for it with tesco vouchers but know other operators go - I think there were carisma, Selectcamp, Keycamp etc on site last year or book direct. We loved it so much we booked up again for this year as soon as we got back last year!

That looks nice - that sea and sky look fab. Slightly alarmed by the skinny, brown looking women in the pictures, hope that's not compulsory! I'll look into that one, thanks for that.
