We are going to NYC for my 30th in May and I am as nervous as I am excited about it! Our little one will be 6.5 months old and I would appreciate any tips on the flight, baby friendly cafes, restaurants, baby food availability and any other general ideas or encouragement!! Thanks

Take a sling! IME, you do not want to be traversing the streets or subways of New York with a pushchair!

Frommers do a New York with kids guide which I found very useful. There is certainly loads to do with kids - though I guess yours is still a bit small. Dd was 3.5 when we went. We did Central Park (playgrounds/merry go round) and the Zoo. Battery Park and a trip on the Circle Line ferry out to the Statue of Liberty. Museum of Natural History. Top of the Rock. ToysRus in Times Square. We were only there 3 days which just wasn't long enough.

cabs are not expensive if u need to use them, subway not really pushchair friendly.was there in nov and was aware of how many families i saw with small children and where i saw them.
