I am getting mixed reviews with a lot of people saying flights are always delayed... Anyone have recent experience? Also, what is the legroom/seat size, in flight entertainment etc like?

Thanks...

I haven't flown with them but I have always heard good things about them.

Except from my mil and step fil who just flew Heathrow-Oz-NZ with them, they complained a lot. But they would complain if they won the lottery . One of mil's complaints was that she chose a curry for one of her in-flight meals and it was spicy

Oh, but the in-flight entertainment was the screens in the backs of seats with about a zillion films and TV programmes to choose from, so that sounds fine.

My DH adores Emirates, and he's flown to Oz thrice now as I studied there and my father lives there. He said it was the best airline he's ever encountered and has been gloomy about having to go JAL and BA/QANTAS since. He's 6 ft 4 so I'm presuming legroom is okay, and he said the inflight entertainment was so fabulous he struggled to see everything he wanted to.

We flew Emirates from Munich to Dubai and I would never fly them again. It was the most uncomfortable flight ever. DH is 6ft 1 and could not get comfortable - esp when the person in front put their seat back. DH's was broken and wouldn't go back.

Food and service were fine but certainly the seat configuration on the leg we were on was extremely uncomfortable.

Maybe it is better UK to Oz.

Thanks very much. I guess we will have to check what type of plane we would be on before booking to make sure it isn't too cramped. In flight entertainment sounds good. Last time we went with another airline (which was excellent but maybe too expensive this time) and I must have watched the Incredibles 4 times at least cos there wasn't much else on...

I flew Emirates Gatwick - Perth via Dubai at Christmastime, and it was fine. Great entertainment in the newer aircraft and the food was fine (if you like chicken or beef). Flights were punctual, clean and plenty of drinks and snacks.

I flew with Singapore Airlines last year though on their new Airbus A380 and that was divine. So would prefer to go SA if possible.

Singapore is wonderful, agreed. Changi is a lovely airport, too, as they go.
