Decent family beach holiday in Cyprus

Looking for a nice sandy beach, shallow water, not too built up, at least one heated pool and either a family sized self catering apartment or all inclusive would be even better. All price ranges.

Can anyone recommend anything?

Look at the Nissi Beach Hotel - best beach on Island for calm shallow water as there is a lagoon & you can wade in it to a little island.
Kids pool & main pool ok but the beach is the main attraction. Good buffet style food in hotel & a beachside taverna - the staff are super! A 5 mins drive from Aya Nappa for the harbourside restaurants/shopping & 5 mins the other way to a lovely little inlet with 2 fantastic traditional (not touristy) tavernas.
Big family rooms called garden suites with large grassed areas infront where you can play/sunbathe. Ideal for a family holiday!

We stayed at The Almyra on hifi's link summer 07.

The town it is in was very built up and 'English', with timeshare touts bothering people all the time when walking towards the harbour - or anywhere really! I think AI there, if they did it, would be very expensive - the bar snacks/poolside food was quite pricey. We were half board but we either paid through the nose or ran the gauntlet with the timeshare touts.

Can't really remember the beach, I don't think there was that much of it. Pools were a bit disappointing and not enough sun loungers for the amount of guests. Children's club was not great either.

DS was really ill with a chest infection the whole holiday, so that may be clouding my memory somewhat!
