Here's a challenge for you!

DH and I have been married 11 years on the 11th April and basically we've never really celebrated an anniversary in a big way....when we got married we did a register office ceremony and I wore a nice dress but didn't want to do the whole bride thing. Mainly, looking back, because I had to keep my in-laws under control or it would have been a nightmare of "invite so and so" and "do these napkins come in blush?" etc etc etc so I wanted it to be a low key thing

Thing is since then I've chundered on to DH now and again, how I regret not wearing a 'proper' dress etc.

SO, bless him he has bought me a lovely, prom dress style, A line dress, strapless, which is Ivory and quite bridal looking and he says it's so I can wear it on our anniversary and stop banging on about never wearing anything like that

Trouble is I really DON'T want to renew our vows, no offence to anyone and all that but it seems a bit tacky to me! And illogical - how can you renew a once in a lifetime thing??!!

But here's the challenge where the hell can I wear a dress like that without feeling a bit mad? It's so sweet of him to have thought of it but I can't think what on earth to do so I could actually wear it?!

Help?!

Hi

That's really lovely of your husband! Sounds like the perfect dress to dance in....

Some gorgeous hotels do dinner dance packages. You'd have proper time alone together, a romantic setting and an opportunity to show that dress off!

Get in touch if you want some help planning the whole thing and really making it an anniversary to remember. Otherwise, I hope you have a brilliant time!

wow how lucky are you?!

I'd have a weekend London - what about the Ritz for dinner - the resturant is totally beautiful, elegant and Im sure you would look fantastic!

Or Hambledon Hall at Rutland - again gorgeous!

ooh replies - ta!

we never go out so I wouldn't even have thought of dinner dance packages! Brilliant. I am actually quailing a bit at the thought of the ritz though - maybe not for the likes of us....will check out Hambledon Hall...

I am going to try and do the link so you can see the dress if you check back on this thread

I know

You could have knocked me down with a feather. First thoughtful thing he's done in 11 yrs! Actually, he is lovely - but has never done anything like this before. I mean, it's not a 'posh' dress but I think it's lovely and it was a very sweet thought.
