Weekend away in December....

We are coming back to the UK for the month of December this year. It is our 10th wedding anniversary while we are there, and my SIL has offered to take the 4 kids so that we can go away for a dirty weekend LOL

We are in Australia, so the exchange rate means that we aren't going to be loaded, but we want to have a lovely weekend too. Probably 2 nights.
Can anyone help with ideas??

Do you have a preference as to roughly where in the UK you might go? You want to make the most of this precious weekend, so travelling too far (particularly as you've come all the way from Australia!) might eat into your time too much.

One quick idea for you - West Stoke House in Chichester, West Sussex. Beautiful country retreat with period furniture, french antiques and Michelin starred restaurant. They sometimes do package deals which include champagne / dinner etc. (www.weststokehouse.co.uk)
