Has anyone been to the Mestral and Llebeig Apartments in Menorca?

We are thinking that this will be great for us. has anyone got any experience of the hotel or the surrounding area of Santo Tomas?

We have stayed in Santo Tomas, but not in those appartments. The beach is gorgeous and there are a few bars & restaurants as you walk along the road. It is a very small resort and not a lot going on. Our dds were 5 and 3 when we went there. It was their very first 'hot' holiday.

I would highly recommend hiring a car for a few days so that you can explore. The island is not very big and it is dead easy to find your way around. My top tip would be to pack travel pills though as the road down to Santo Tomas, from the main highway.

Um, there was also a doctors surgery in the resort too. DH got an ear infection (swimming pool water) and it was handy to be able to get treated quickly.

Feel free to ask if you have any more questions, I will try and help if I can.

* The road down to the resort is windy* !!

Yes! We stayed there 3 years ago in June when dd was 5 months old, so may have changed since then.

We had a great time and would return. The best thing was that it seemed standard to get a 2 bedroom apartment, so dh and I didn't have to sleep on the sofa bed and dd got her own cot in her room. The apartments were spacious and well stocked in terms of kitchen stuff. I would recommend taking your own cot bedding if you need it as it was quite basic!

We had a place overlooking the pool, gardens and the small pool bar which made it very convenient but I guess this is luck of the draw as there were other rooms overlooking the road.

The resort is lovely if you like quiet! A handful of bars and restaurants (we went with a 5 mo so didn't want to be out all night clubbing anyway ) The beach is great but a little windy. We hired a car for a few days to see the island which I would recommend.

Ideal if you want a quiet, relaxing holiday.

Thank you. We have plumped for this. I just hope that there are places available when we go in to book. ( I hate online booking).

It really does sound like what we want.

Just another question.
It says that there is a kids club. Is there?
Where did you hire your car from? Was it local to the apartments and about how much did it coat? (if you don't mind my asking?)

Sorry! I meant to ask if there was a supermarket nearby as it is self catering.

Hope you'll enjoy it! There was a supermarket on the same road as the apartments - quite small and expensive as I remember but good for all the basics. We also tend to take a bit of food with us (tea, coffee, cereal, etc etc) and if you hire a car then you'll have access to the larger and prob cheaper places.

I don't know about the kids club as dd was just 5 months, but I think we went with First Choice, so would think they would do something like that. As for car hire, I can't remember what it cost, but we arranged it there in one of the car hire places that were along the main road too - there is only 1 main road so you won't get too lost! It may be worth looking on line before you go as you might get a better deal if you have it for the week and pick up/drop off from the airport?

Detoxdiva, thanks. That is all really useful information.

Stayed here twice, about 5 years ago. Lovely apartments esp having the two bedrooms. Nice pool area, kids went to the club a few times but the beach is so lovely and just across the road they prefered that.
Not a great selection of places to eat, so we hired a car to explore the island. Look out for the road it can be busy. Have been to Florida several times now the children are older but they still ask when are they going back here. Hope it is still the same for you.

It's booked
Thank you all for your advice.
