Strange request maybe...

I am hoping to find a romantic hotel (four poster bed would be nice, but isn't essential, with a really big bath - big enough for two people to lounge about and relax in (that's why I've namechanged - I am embarrassed ), also satellite TV would be nice, as would a reasonable restaurant...in short everything you could ask for in a romantic weekend, and never have to leave your room/the hotel!!

Does anyone have any suggestions? It could be pretty much anywhere in the southern part of the country - say up to as far north as South Yorkshire and as far west as Bath...and as far south or east as you like!

Honeymoon is only for a weekend so would like to find something special

Any of the Hotel du Vin. Gorgeous. Can strongly recommend Henley on Thames.

Littlefish · 28/02/2009 12:03

I'm off to stay at the Hotel Du Vin tonight!!!!

I'll report back....

I think that Hotel Du Vin might have a hotel in Brighton...

QuantitativeMeasure · 28/02/2009 13:45

There is a Du Vin in Brighton. Some of the rooms have big baths.

The one in Bristol has two baths next to each other

PortAndLemon · 28/02/2009 13:46

We spent the night after our wedding in Room 4 in Ashdown Park, and that had a bath that was certainly big enough for two...

feelingshy · 28/02/2009 15:11

oooh, thank you...I will investigate!

Side by side baths in Botticelli suite at Le Manoir in Oxfordshire?

FrannyandZooey · 28/02/2009 15:22

this would be my choice as i always like the water just how I want it

Try one of the Abode hotels -we stayed in one recently and it was lovely.

The rooms and suites all vary (they did in the Exeter one anyway) so you might have to specify the bath requirements.

The food in the Michael Caines restaurant was superb too.

poshtottie · 28/02/2009 16:19

DH and I stayed here and the baths were big enough for two.

Also have a look on this site

Some of the rooms at babington have a huge tub outside which look great. I think they look out onto the walled garden but are very private.

The Grove, Chandlers Cross (nr Watford) is FAB-U-LUS!!!!
I believe Obama is planning to stay there..

Hello feelingshy

We are a very romantic and elegant boutique hotel in Brighton, 20 metres from the beach, and the only small hotel with a five star rating. We have four poster rooms, the best breakfast you've ever tasted, and can arrange any specials to make your honeymoon really special.

Please feel free to have a look at our website (www.kemptownhouse.com) or call for more information (01273 681 400).

Best wishes for a lovely break, wherever you go to

Kemp Townhouse

Another vote for Babington here, but ou have to get a room in the main house to get a bath in the bedroom.

Littlefish · 02/03/2009 14:03

Just got back from the Hotel Du Vin. It was fabulous.

If you go, check really carefully that your room has a bath. Some of them just have showers (although the showers are massive, monsoon, 2 (or more!) people affairs!)

thanks everybody for all your help and tips...have finally booked a couple of days at the Hoste Arms in Burnham Market...can't wait!
