Where can I take my kids (alone) of 4 and 8 for a long w/end somewhere in t' NorthWest?

I can't be doing with theme parks and whathave you.I want peace and walking and swimming and no roughing it.

I didn't realise you were already in Wales, guess you've done Llangollen a number of times then?

I love north Wales (apart from Rhyl) did a lot of walking in Snowdonia when I lived in the north west, I now live in Norfolk and don't get to see mountains anymore

What about Forest of Bowland? Like a less touristy Lake District and not quite so far north, Dunsop Bridge is lovely.

Actually,I went to a comedy gig there a few months ago (was closed but this was a night do for locals) and much as I hate to admit it, it looked quite nice!

Mind you, have been walking in Beddgelert this w/end which has raised spirits and calmed frayed nerves.There's nopt much that a good long walk doesn't solve.

I think I have fantasies about some sort of posh gated style community with no chavs and no cars. a SORT OF more STYLISH cENTERPARCS.
