Is it possible to get a holiday for 2 adults, 2 children(over10years old), for one week anywhere outside of the UK that DOES NOT INVOLVE DRIVING TO FRANCE or any other DRIVING TO EUROPE. For example, getting flights to Europe, getting the train even.

Or am I being unrealistic about cost?I thinkI am being really unrealistic about thecost, butI have been inspired to ask becauseIhave read on another thread such amazingly low costs that other people are claiming to pay for a holiday abroad eg, "no more than £500".

Please do not respond with costs based on geting a ferry/ taking the car to France. My whole point is,can it be donewithout the car?

Have you looked at centre parcs in Belgium, France or Holland. Honest is loads cheaper than UK and you could choose one that is quite close to an airport and fly there.

We did that a few years ago and it was still over half the price of a uk one

chuck your details in here and see what it throws up, there are some to the balarics for as little as £150 each (obviously don't know your exact dates and airport choice etc)

I now lots of peope think Centerparcs is great but I detest the places and they are really overpriced too.

the uk ones are overpriced, but the european ones are so much cheaper and aren't.

Have you found anywhere yet? Was there anything that came up from my link?

this one for example is only £197 each Ok so that makes it £800 but still a good price

Try this website or this is the one i used last year and found them really good.
I'm not sure what you could get for £700 though, and it would def have to be self catering!

Thanks Furball, but the quote does not include travel, whhich would add alot to the cost.

Decided to stay at home and may be go on a shorter city short break whichI knowI can sort out if I need to.

The Uk's not a bad place to holiday solanum - it's such a shame you can't guarentee the weather.
