I'm going to US next week (atlanta) with my mum and my DD who will be 23/24 weeks. Haven't weaned her yet so she's on boob and 2 bottles at night.

So many questions!
Do we bring a carseat?
Do I bring pram - we have a micralite toro and she's in the sitting bit now not the flat bit
Do I bring aptamil in cartons? confusing as I read on other thread that you bring bring ready made. or shall I not bother with bottles at all and just boob all the way (wd rather not but not sure re: hassle of making up, and have never used powder before)

if I bring pram do I take it thru to departure lounge then they put it on plane or is it checked as luggage?

If I use sling shall I just use my close baby carrier or will baby bjorn provide more support? I can borrow bjorn. Never used before tho.

any tips would be great. realised I'm completely unprepared.

Also do you advise bringing medised in case she doesn't sleep?

What to take in case she's teethign? generally v dribbly and think they're on the way but no idea when coming. I have teetha powders, calgel, calpol

best nappies for explosive poos - think they'll be worse than usual from what I've read, and they're pretty powerful anyway ? I'm using pampers and boots stay dry at night.

ok will wait to hear sorry for long msg.

if you need a car seat at the other end then take your own

US formulas are different so pack UK formula in your check in - powder is easier

No idea about formula for the plane - either buy some airside or don't bother?

you take your buggy/pram all the way through to the gate then fold and they stick it in the hold

be prepared that you may not get your buggy back til baggage claim at Atlanta

We took DD aged 9 months to the US last year and I was mixed feeding. I took a box of Aptamil powder in my main baggage, and some ready made cartons. US customs inspected my bag and wouldnt let me take the ready-made formula into the US (cant remember what element of it they didnt like - but something in the ingredients was on the list of banned foods that could be brought into the country) - but did let me take the powder. So definitely take powder rather than/as well as ready made in case the same happens to you! They also took off me a number of jarred foods I had - only the beef ones I think! I did, hwoever, get it all back when I returned to the aiport to fly home at the end of the two weeks!

ok we're taking pram and carseat.

also, am planning to do BLW. Shall I not bother to give her any type of solids till we get back? Am itching to give her something eg rusks, baby cereal/rice, carrot, banana etc. and was thinking of offering her the odd thing this week and while we're there. is this crazy?
