Lanzarote - too hot for dcs in July?

Thinking about the Princess Yaiza Playa Blanca first week of July - 3 dcs will be 6,5, and just under a year. Would it be too hot? The alternative would be Portugal but we like the look of the PY. Any advice appreciated ta.

It will be pretty hot, but then plenty of families go on hols to the Canaries so I think you just have to be very sensible about keeping them out of the sun during the hottest part of the day, loads of sunscreen etc. I don't know Lanzarote that well, so can't offer any advice on the resort but bumping this for the evening crowd.

The Yaiza hotel is lovely - we looked at it last year but as ds was only 11 months didnt think it would be worth it IYKWIM. We went at the end of April, it was late 20's - but it is quite windy so it doesnt feel as hot. Hopefully the older 2 will get involved in the kids activities- of which there is supposed to be plenty, and you can keep the littly in the shade?

Thanks - it's tempting! Someone told me it's reasonably windy though I guess the sun would still be very strong. But then we're very careful with the sun - whole family are pale/fair so we're not the type to lie out in it.

Weather in canaries only goes to 29 in July...so maybe not as hot as Greece etc. Not that windy...feels more like air con,,,which is nice...only been in winter (back on MOnday!)...eves needed a jumper...but lots to do on the island

You may find it pretty hot, even with the lovely constant wind. We normally go out of June, July, Aug as I'm pretty rubbish in hot hot hot and so is dd. We did a last min to take dd's half sis had to be in school hols (last week July) and it was just too hot for me.

Dd was in the pool (was 18 months then) nearly the whole time and we have a sun tent like a travel cot with a hood and uv shade she can go in, sturdy, can't tip it over like the pop up tents. She was also pretty grumpy though as it was very hot.

We are very fair/blonde and I know I would not go again that time of year. Went the week before christmas and was lovely (for their winter!!)

Thanks all we've definitely decided that wherever we go it will be half term week so end of May. Just got to choose now between Lanzarote and Portugal!
