I stayed at the Rhodes hotel - just down from Oxford Street - could walk, right near Lancaster Gate tube on the central line and a little walk from Hyde Park. Stayed there when I first got to the UK - brilliant owners, good accommodation.

There is an Ibis at Euston (near Rusell Sq), website is www.ibishotel.com . Also have a look at their parent company website ww.accorhotels.com as the chain includes Sofitel, Novotel, Mercure, Etap etc.
