Off to Madrid on Monday, anyone got any recommendtions for things to do and see?

Off to Madrid on Monday for 6 days, staying in the city center. It's me, dh and 2 yo dd.

Haven't even bought a guide book and no idea whats good to see and do.

Any suggestions?

been ages since I was there so this may well be out of date...

Prado and Reina Sofia cultural centre which has more modern stuff and Picasso's Guernica.

The Retiro park

Casa del Campo, huge space on the outskirts of town, cable car ride

erm, Rastro flea market on Sundays

historic area around Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol good for wandering and eating. In fact, whole of Madrid is good for eating... v. jealous Amazing tapas here if it is still the same place I went to years ago.
