Where in ITALY ????

I am looking to take the family on holiday.
DH and 2 kids ( DS 12 and DD 10 )
I want somewhere that's not full of "trippers" but not too secluded for the kids ... they love a taste of the action ( don't we all )

Don't really know where to start ...

DH is a bit of an "action man" and I like to chill with a pile of books.

Any ideas anyone please ?

I think Italy's not the best place for watersports, but for beauty and lots of nice walking areas (but not the nicest beaches), I would recommend the Amalfi coast.

Puglia is supposed to be lovely. Haven't been there myself, but Ryanair fly to Brindisi and Bari and Pescaro (I think) so you might be able to find a bargain.
