If you?re going to go to SEA with small children, then Malaysia is probably a good bet. Big cities are pretty modern and clean, you can stock up on anything that you need i.e. don?t have to worry about taking huge amounts of nappies and baby related stuff with you. Good train system ? easy enough to get around.

It is very hot and sticky - it's just humid all the time - but if you stay in the more built up places, then all accomodation is air-con which matters when you've got little ones.

Depends what you want to do though and how adventurous you want to be ? Penang is lovely, lots of culture. Langkawi is your fairly standard beach paradise.

Sabah and Sarawak on the island of Borneo in East Malaysia are probably more for the intrepid (child-free!)traveller ? much less developed, and all the more beautiful for it.

I went about 5 years ago ? so it?s probably all a bit of out date, but let me know if you want any other info that I can remember!

I second Langkawi, lovely place, fab hotels but not cheap.
