We are going to Miami at Easter for a few days before travelling down to the Keys. We are not sure on accomodation in Miami as we believe you have to pay extra to park your car at motels? Has anyone stayed in Miami itself or is it easier to stay just outside and drive in. Again, is it difficult to park? Any recommendations of where to stay too! We would really appreciate some help. Thanks

we always stay at a la Quinta inn near Miami airport - parking free as at most chain hotels - or at somewhere within easy reach of Miami like the la Quinta at Hollywood. if you are looking at South Beach they are all much pricier and often do charge for parking. i think the Days Inn is probably best value with children on South Beach.

American cities are easy to drive in and park.

I can't remember paying extra to park (it was a while ago though, so I may have just forgotten, or things may have changed). We stayed at a motel in Miami Beach. I would imagine if you stayed downtown and put your car in a parking garage, you would have to pay.

We have also stayed in a Day's Inn near the airport, but I would not really recommend doing that.

You might be competing with Spring Breakers at Easter.
