Would like to go in April - not sure about the sea temperature (DC like snorkelling) - has anyone any advice?

I posted this in 2004(!) on Mumsnet:

Hi Corsica is beautiful - I'm envious! DP and I went to Corsica in 2000 (pre children) and stayed in a lovely hotel called Roc E Fiori which is in Porto Vecchio. There is a pool and it was, as I recall, fairly close to the beach. I typed in Roc E Fiore on Google and got a number of hits which link to the hotel. The hotel was very pretty - we went fairly early on in the season so it wasn't too busy. I think we booked with Simply Corsica. Hope you find something anyway. Good luck!

As far as I can remember it was lovely. Better beaches than Malta. But slightly more boring too in terms of things to do. Did 2 day trips from Malta.
Imagine sea would be bit chilly, but not UK chilly in April.
Very long ago sorry.

Never been (not very helpful I know!) but have been scouring for holidays recently and they had some lovely villas in Gozo on ownersdirect.co.uk. The individual listings are usually quite informative and tell you what there is to do in the area and how far you are from different things.

Not sure about snorkelling, but their website says the best diving in the Med

not sure how warm it would be (depends how hardy your ids are) but its beautiful (if quiet) and very family friendly... can try day trips to malta or comino (good snorkelling there). lots of lovely beaches but my personal fave as a kid was at ramla...am quite of you for going...

Went to Malta last year with www.chevron.co.uk (a Malta/Gozo specialist) and they were great. We stayed at the Maritim Antonine hotel in Mellieha which was very good. For us the best thing was it is on the main island but the last town before the Gozo ferry so easy to get across if you wanted. Also has one of the only sandy beaches on Malta
