renewing a passport and EH1C card

..for ds,for a school day trip to France...can I get these done before he goes back to school after half term (he has to have these to secure a place on the trip as places are limited) Can you apply for EH1C card online on a child's behalf ? thanks

Passport - I think you can pay extra for a speedy service. Always get mine renewed around this time of year anyway as 'quiet'

EH1C - just done this for my dd's french trip! Yes, online and v. easy.

I second primulaveris - I've done same

thank you ! if I went to Post Office,could it be done there ? am thinking it might be speedier online though
