Feb Half Term - Yorkshire Dales Days Out?

My husband and I and our 2 boys aged 2 and 4 are staying in a cottage in the Yorkshire Dales (Swaledale) in Feb Half term. Does anyone live/or been there who could recommend places for 2 lively boys!

I'd be very grateful for your suggestions. Thanks

How close is it to Wensleydale? The Forbidden Corner at Leyburn is good but you must book in advance as limited tickets each day.

The caves at Ingleton and the waterfall walk at Ingleton are good.

You can probably travel to the lakes if the boys don't mind a bit of a drive, or Lancaster's got a castle.

We stayed in the west (near Chipping) and saw there was a Wild Boar Park (www.wildboarpark.co.uk/) but didn't go as our boy was only 6 months old but yours may enjoy it. There are bound to be farms to visit too around where you're staying.

And don't forget walking in the beautiful countryside's low-cost and may tire them out in the evenings

There's an awesome outdoor playground at Castle Howard where they filmed Bridsehead Revisited. Massive grounds to yomp in and lovely cafe. Phone to check, but I would imagine it will be open for half term, we've been on christmas eve before!
