Affordable watersports holiday in Summer 2009

We have 4 children, aged 12, 11, 7 and 3, and want to take them somewhere warm and sunny that has activities on offer for the older 2 in particular. One wants to windsur, the other wants to learn top dinghy sail. Cost is a massive factor, there being 6 of us, but we don't want to disppoint the older ones whe expect a summer holiday to inccude sea and sand (as well as warm sun!)

I would have suggested one of the water sports places in Scotland, but you say you want sun so perhaps not .

Last year I would have said CrystalActive was perfect for you but unfortunately they are no longer. Sunsail, Neilson and Mark Warner are the obvious to go to for watersports holidays but are v. pricey.

I found this when I googled Beach club holidays but don't know anything else about it.

There might be somewhere on the Isle of Wight that you could stay and do wind surfing or dingy sailing courses at a local sailing club maybe. Otherwise look for somewhere in Cornwall near a sailing club that might do similiar.

there's a great place for watersports at Lake on the IOW (between Sandown and Shandon). Very laid back- if waves are big, you surf, if medium, windsurf, if flat canoe or SUP. We camped nearby at Ninian's Farm and had a fantastic week.

Found this last year when we were thinking of doing something like that. www.xtreme-gene.com/ We have been to Mark Warner Paleros which used to include waterskiing as well as sailing etc but not sure they do anymore. Sailing and windsurfing def. included at no extra cost.
