Pub help

We're coming over on a day trip from Belgium and will be in Dover can anyone recommend a really good pub up to 20 mins drive from where the ferry comes in.
Kind of a gastro pub - just after some really good English food and also where a todler would be allowed in.

There is a family friendly pub called the Jackdaw (on the way out to Canterbury - I think the village is Denton) which did lovely food. Haven't been that way for about 6 months though and it was being refurbished. Traditional English - they did a great selection of homemade pies, fish, game, steaks and veggie options.

Also there is the Railway Bell towards Temple Ewell/River, haven't been there for even longer but it is closer and good food. Nice garden for DC's too.
