Periyali villas / Zakynthos - one week or two?

We're contemplating booking a Periyali villa this summer but can't decide whether to go for one week or two. With ds only being 18 months, our pace of sightseeing and getting out and about will be gentle, and we will have a car. Is ther enough to do and see to keep us occupied for two weeks?

dont know sorry, but just bumping cos i have looked at this place for our summer hols and am interested in any replies!

Hi, i went to Zakynthos about seven years ago so it probably has changed since I was there. I have been to other greek islands and they seem to be pretty much the same. I think you would struggle finding things to do for two weeks. however, we took our ds away for the first time when he was 18mths and we went to corfu for two weeks. we spent the first few days lazing around then a few days going round the island visiting different towns and going out for long walks with ds in the pushchair and then the last part of the holiday lazying around again. As long as there is a beach and a pool, and you take some toys to play with you should be ok for two weeks

Thanks DLI, I'm trying to get my head around the idea of family holidays, we never stayed in one place on pre-ds holidays, so I have no idea how I'll feel doing the lazing around thing. Sounds a nice idea at the moment though!

We went for one week last summer, and wish we'd gone for two. But then, we do like lazing around! There is not a lot to do in terms of sightseeing, but if you are happy to just swim, sunbathe, read books and have nice meals, it will be great!

we spent a week there in Sept 06 and that was enough for us... not much else to do or see there. We did Crete the yr after and there was a lot more to occupy us for 2 wks there.

I've been to zakynthos twice and would say it is better for one week than two. Its pretty low key (but very pleasant!)
I didn't stay at periyali but very close by (we walked there on one of our explorations!) - I would recommend the place we stayed, I discovered it from another MN recommendation! I'd say it is a better walking distance to a range of nice beaches (we didn't have a car and prefer to minimise driving when we are on holiday)
