Hi, myself and dd aged 2.3 are going to the Gambia in March. She will be taking malarone, which is a daily dose. I am panicking about getting her to swallow this every day and have been given conflicting advice as to whether they can be crushed or not. Anyone used this drug with a similiarly aged child??

Yes we use it often. I have in the past crushed it into a teaspoonful of jam. Alternatively what works really well for us (ds2 is 21months) is just to pop it whole (they are quite small) into a large spoonful of yoghurt and it all goes down at the same time. By the time they get to 3.5 they can take it by themselves with a glass of milk. A drink of milk afterwards helps absorption too. Good luck!
