10 month DS2 was strapped to me with an add-on harness they provided.

We have used a forward facing car seat, the seat provided by the airline and nothing

With no additional seat the LO has to sit on you to be strapped in whenever the seat belt sign is on

Have you booked a separate seat for him ? Normally under 2's have to sit on your lap for take off and landing, and they provide an infant belt which you attach to yours, even if you have booked a seat for them. Never seen one of those. If you haven't booked him a seat he would sit on your lap for the duration (unless you are lucky and there is a vacant seat adjacent and cabin crew are happy for you to use it). I thought for long haul they had a limited number of toddler seats on the bulkhead though.

ah posts crossed !

ok technically you cant place lo seat in empty space - though we have done it before - as has to be restrained really ...but everyone does that

however i want to play safe! and we booked seat as he is to big to be on me for duration of flight - so with a seat booked you must provide your own safety seat whatever...and....

just finally got answer from ba this minute - safe to use my device
