This is within my budget and All Inclusive as well. Stuff cooking for a week!

I've never been to Portugal before so don't know what to expect. Has anyone been to this place or could recommend some places nearby (it is in a town called Balaia) to visit?

Bumping again in the hope that there is anyone out there who has been or can help.

I havent been - it looks nice, the only problems I forsee would be that Albuferia is about 4 miles away and the airport transfer is 1 hour 20 mins - we have a ds who is 2, and that long on a bus after 3 hours on a plane would be too much

We have been to the Algarve 4 times and love it.

Can recommend stuff to do, what age are your dc's?

TwoIfBySea · 31/01/2009 21:32

Thanks Ruthie, my dts are 7.

The beaches are lovely so I am sure you will spend time there. Beware... Algarve is on Atlantic Ocean so sea is cold!!

Def go to Zoomarine, a great zoo with sealion shows etc. You will be able to pick up a bus to there.

The best water park is Slide and Splash, again there are shuttle buses which pick up from hotels.

There is a great market at Quarteria, on a Wednesday I think. It is huge, does get busy, but a good way to spend a morning.

I am sure you will enjoy it.

Loved the Algarve. Have been to the holiday village in turkey and it was great. All Inclusive is great with dc. If they don't like something you can get something else!!

TwoIfBySea · 02/02/2009 19:33

Fantastic, Ruthie, my dts love going to sea world type places, sounds just what they'd love.

I did think of the Atlantic freeze but the pools at the hotel look really good fun so the beach shall be for bucket and spade action! Then again my two have been in the sea off the east coast of Scotland often enough, they should be brave enough.

Yes, for the first time I want all inclusive because I intend on doing damn all cooking this holiday and what-the-hell it is my holiday too !

is it still warm and summer holiday-ish in October?

TwoIfBySea · 05/02/2009 12:44

It said about 22 temp wise, bluesky. As dts1 can't take the heat that is perfect for him. It is why I chose that time of year.
