Oh I can't help with accommodation ideas. I just meant I could suggest places to visit and come with you! Maybe show you my home town?

I have a couple of friends who have stayed at

Sandy Balls and they thought it was good and have been for return trips.

DumbledoresGirl · 29/01/2009 12:41

Hi Tommy. I am very sad for you that you are getting excited at the forthcoming opening of Ikea. Life can't be that dull for you, can it?

Tommy · 29/01/2009 13:48

it's alright for you DG - you already have one near you!

(life not quite that dull but pretty tedious a the moment as DS3 has chicken pox )

naswm · 29/01/2009 21:34

Voice of disent for Sandy Balls here - you are all squashed up with other people and we thought that the activities for kids and a lot of the drinks/food etc onsite were overpriced.

We stayed at a place called Elmers Court down near Lymington last autumn - we had an apartment which would have slept 2 adults plus 2/3 dcs comfortably and the breakfast included was lovely. It had a kitchen so you could do your own thing in terms of food, or you could eat in the restaurant or get room service. Lovely pool, and a games room for the kids plus tennis courts etc if you wanted.
You are then right near to Beaulieu, the IOW ferry is walkable from the hotel - we are planning to go back this year.

Sidge · 29/01/2009 22:31

PMSL at Hampshite

Alibaba I had my wedding reception at Elmers Court (many moons ago) and it's lovely.

Have you thought about letting a cottage or apartment? I found this

There is plenty to do across Hampshire. Paultons, Manor Farm, Marwell, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, Lymington, Beaulieu, Winchester, New Forest.

naswm · 30/01/2009 12:46

Thanks for the tips - Elmers court looks VERY pricey to me.... Couldnt find any apartments though when I had a quick look at the website, only hotel accomodation, which could be why it was working out expensive...

My fears re Sandy Balls is just as you say Alibaba...

okay, not as neat as other peoples liknks, but, a link, at least!

DumbledoresGirl · 30/01/2009 14:31

You would think with this new look MN they would have worked out a way of allowing OPs to change their thread title. Seeing Hampshite every time I see this thread just adds to the insult each time.

Naswm, I can't believe you struggle so with links. To get a neater finish to it, just leave a gap after the address and add your own words to it and then put in the double bracket.

naswm · 30/01/2009 14:32

oh lol I suppose I cant be bothered to work it out DG

OP posts:
naswm · 30/01/2009 14:35

maybe I shoudl start a fresh thread without the typo?
