... my flight booking.

Just made my first online booking for a flight.

Just received confirmation email to print and notice that I'd entered my first name incorrectly - one letter missing!

D'oh!!

Do I have to change it - does it have to be the exact name on passport?

Please excuse my ignorance and much thanks for any advice!!!

I think it does, who is it with - Easyjet change for free apparently.

nancy75 · 25/01/2009 22:32

i would think you need to change it to the exact name on passport, can you phone and change it?

IdrisTheDragon · 25/01/2009 22:34

It does need to be the exact name on the passport AFAIK. Whether it will cost you anything to change it depends on the company you are flying with - most of them do charge.

Wuxiapian · 25/01/2009 22:37

Yes, booked with EasyJet.

Well, I've gone to "change booking" and entered my name correctly.

Seems like it's a £40 charge (20 each way) and £14 for "Total fare difference".

So, £54 blardy quid to change name!

ChasingSquirrels, are you sure?

no, but there was a letter in the travel section of my parent's telegraph this weekend and I thought it said EasyJet. Try calling and see if you can get it for free.

ChasingSquirrels · 25/01/2009 22:39

because you don't want to change the booking as such, just correct an error in the name.

ChasingSquirrels · 25/01/2009 22:43

looking at easyjet the change of passanger name thing is allocating the booking to someone else, not correcting an error.
I am pretty sure the letter was Easyjet, it said they are very good at changes when it was an obvious typo.

Amapoleon · 25/01/2009 22:44

Wux , I'm sure that charge would be to change the name on the ticket to someone elses. I would phone them.

Wuxiapian · 25/01/2009 22:56

Oh, what a palava!

I'll ring them in the morning! Hope there's not a time limit for changing - going this fri!

Thanks all for responses and any more much appreciated!!

It was definitely EasyJet in the Telegraph travel section who didn't charge.

Wuxiapian · 26/01/2009 14:04

I just rang and name's been changed without cost!

Thank you all so much for help!!
