Ds's birthday this weekend, no idea where to go, any help please

I was planning to take my ds to Thorpe Park this weekend, but apparently the forecast is not good at all, so that sends my plans right out the window. Now I'm stuck on what to do, and I really wanted to make the day special for him.
I live on the Hampshire/Surrey border and don't mind driving quite a distance. He will be 5, and is a very active child. He can't keep still for long so cinema/museums generally don't go down well. He often goes to Indoor Ball parks so this wouldn't be a special treat for him either. I remember once visiting an indoor funfair with bumper cars but I can't remember where on earth I saw this. Can anyone help with any ideas? I just haven't got a clue. Thanks

Is there not a swimming complex with slides, waves etc near you???
My nephews and neices love them and they normally sleep on the way back as swimming tires them out.

Thanks for the idea dyzzidi. But I wouldn't be able to join in with that, sounds abit selfish I suppose.
Anybody else know of anything???

What's legoland like if its raining, is there alot of indoor stuff?

Chessington is just like Thorpe park (own by the same people).
He might be big enough to go on some of the BIG rides now. My DS went on some last year when he was just 5.

Bloody typical that its going to snow, just my luck.
Cod, that farm looks really good, never heard of that before.
Thanks for the suggestions, I suppose the shorter queues is one advantage, but I hate the cold, I thought we were past all of that.

the zoo! My ds ran around like a maniac and was exhausted by the time we got home.
