have found a fab siblu holiday (using mn discount of course) in domain de litteau. problem is im findoing it hard to locate a nearby train station. we will be getting to france on either ferry or eurostar (ds will love either) but worried about being able to get to park/get around.

any advice from frequent visitors to france gratefully received!

Does the site offer transfers? How much would a taxi cost?

So it's near Bayeaux and St LO. You could get to Caen by ferry from Portsmouth and then there are probably buses.

But I'm not sure what the point of coming to France would be if you were stuck in the Campsite all the time.

The weather in Normandy is the same as in the uk.

I see pictures of beautiful beaches on their site but the beaches are a LONG way away.

Why not just go somewhere in the Uk?

I can help with transport if you really want to go though! (I live in Normandy)

I don't know that site, but there may be better sites in terms of public transport/access to beaches/supermarkets etc. Maybe start another thread with that in the title, as loads of MNetters do this type of holiday?

We rarely leave the site, as long as there's a decent kids club and swimming pool complex, except to go to the beach or supermarche. You could always hire bikes to get around locally.
