I'm planning a day trip or a week end away..Is Bologne sur mer doable in one day (boat and drive)or should we stay there for the week end ?

Thanks for your help !

We've always gone for the day. I guess it depends how far you need to drive before you get to Dover.

Bologne is a lovely place to visit. The seafood restaurants are great. Once spent a whole afternoon eating lunch/drinking wine in a restaurant behind the old city walls. Cannot remember what it was called.

We have gone for the day, and also spent a weekend there. If you are worried about your waistline, best just go for the day!!!

Bologne is lovely, went on many a day trip as a kid. I'm not sure if you can still get a direct ferry there any more, though -- they have cancelled a lot of the crossings.

There used to be direct fast craft, though not sure any more. The old town is lovely and Nausicca is worth a visit. I used to love in Dover so never felt the need to spend the night, but I can imagine if you have to drive further it would be lovely to book in somewhere, have a lovely meal and lots of vino and not have to drive home afterwards....There are some nice chateaux in the general vicinity too...

It is only about 30 minutes, if that, from the channel tunnel so if you can get to Folkestone easily I would say it is doable.
