Managing jet lag to our advantage?

Can anyone recommend how to get LO onto an LA sleep cycle where he a)sleeps until 7-8ish, and b)stays awake until about 10-11pm over there, with dozes where appropriate?
He normally goes to bed about 7pm and sleeps through until anywhere between 5.30 and 7 depending on how much he's guzzled/teething.
We're leaving the house about 10ish, 2 hr drive to LHR, then flight around 3.30pm, arriving 6.30 over there. I expect he'll sleep plenty on the flight while I won't, then I'll be lucky to stay awake until 10pm and will be awake at 4.

Can somebody organise us please?

I can't arrange a schedule for him but I think you will find going there far easier than you return.I ahve always "swithced" (as far as possible) mine onto the "new" time the minute we get on the plane.
TBH,depending on how long you are going for,it is very difficult and a big ask to get your LO to completely change his routine for a holiday. He will do what he feels is right unfortunately.....

Heh, we're going for a week only - I would keep him on normal time if it wasn't such a big time difference, but hopefully he'll work out in a couple of days that dark = night. If not, DH will just have to get up with him as he's a nightowl while i'm the morning person
