I know what I want.
But I don't know how to get the best price.
Want the cheapest/best deal on a 14 night all inclusive holiday.
2 adults, 1 child (5), 1 infant (6mths)
Will go anywhere - spain, turkey, balerics- anywhere.
Just want best price. Good food, pref air conditioned rooms. Good child entertainment / discos for ds.
Pool important. Not bothered if near beach.

Ds in reception, so can go termtime aswell. Hoping this will lower price.
Could go in June. Or July, before schools break up. Or in May.

But when I ring up.... Sky travle for example, their system is built to search, only if you know when you want to go, where you want to go.
I.e I want to go to tenerife on 1stjune.
If you just want to ebest deal/cheapest all inclusive holidy, to anywhere, anytime, that is almost impossible for them to search under that criteria.
So what do I do ?

unless i'm wrong thomas cook used to have a search engine where you could put 'any destination' but you do need to put the dates

Oblomov · 22/01/2009 11:26

Thank you dropdead, am looking there now.
cheapest holiday is £1660.
On sky it was £1360.
Both seem alot. But maybe I am expecting too much.
We have previously been to Ibiza , with only ds1 admitttedly, for 2 weeks for JUST over £1000. Maybe I undersetimated what a good deal we had that time. Saying that , all our previous all inclusive holidays have been brill prices.

do you need one room or two?

Polgara2 · 22/01/2009 11:35

Ohh shall watch this with great interest! Am looking for a good price holiday as well and I don't know where I want to go.

Dropdeadfred · 22/01/2009 11:36

does it have to be all inclusive? would you go for a villa?

Dropdeadfred · 22/01/2009 11:44

beginning of may in fuerteventura for £1209?

here?

Oblomov · 22/01/2009 11:46

was thinking all inclusive , because we are very big eaters and drinkers - I mean ds can put away the food of a 13 year old, seriously. I eat like a ....... bodybuiler. and dh is a big man- like a wrestler. tee hee.
no villa = no cooking for me. hoorah.
like going into a buffet style, with pasta, meat cooked infont of you. plus a snack bar by pool for chips, sandwiches, etc.
plus on a resort, you get a good kids club- ds LOVES face painting, disco's, other children etc.

would prefer 2 rooms. that £12090 looks good - am looking at that now.
thank you for your efforts.

Dropdeadfred · 22/01/2009 11:50

okay...i'll look for something else

Dropdeadfred · 22/01/2009 11:50

which airport would you be hoping to fly from?

Oblomov · 22/01/2009 11:53

heathrow or gatwick

OP posts:
Dropdeadfred · 22/01/2009 11:57

£227 each?

Dropdeadfred · 22/01/2009 16:27

any luck?

Oblomov · 24/01/2009 11:20

Not so far. Am still looking.
Have found 2 holidays for £1000, but they seem awful - you know reviewed on 'holiday watchdog from hell' types.
Will continue to look.
Thanks for your efforts though dropdead, you are a star.

No problem...quite enjoyable searching holidays. Mine's booked..going to sardinia for a week in august..

have you ANY preference at all for dates/destnations etc?

toomanyprojects · 25/01/2009 08:53

Hi there,
We went to Lake Garda (Parc Hotel, Peschiera) last year - it was about £1350, have just checked on lastminute dot com and it's £1630 for a week on July 15 at the moment but may well reduce.

It was only half board but massive selection of food - good breakfast too. All buffet style - we didn't eat much at lunchtime.

Really clean 4 star complex, lots of different pools with bars selling drinks and toasties etc, children's club and evening entertainment.

There was a free bus to the town and lake and complimentary tickets to a waterpark and Movie World resort. Gardaland is nearby too.

I liked it as a change from Spain, etc.
Hope you find something - if you are not restricted to school hols (we went in August which meant it was cheaper than most other offers) I'd hang on a bit before booking.

Did you find anything oblomov?

Oblomov · 30/01/2009 16:02

I have found something. I popped into first choice. And the woman got back to me and dh said it was o.k.
It is for 11 nights, Al, to Ibiza, 4 star, end of May £998
hilday
I think that is o.k., yes ?

OP posts:
Polgara2 · 31/01/2009 09:03

I think that sounds great! Unfortunately we may have to forego our holiday for a new kitchen not sure we can afford both. Oh well - wales anyone

johnbarrowmanlovesme · 04/02/2009 19:32

wow that looks fab!

Oblomov · 05/02/2009 12:17

We booked our holiday, last night. Going to Ibiza for 2 weeks, all inclusive, end of May.ibiza
Dh didn't like the look of the Tanit. which is the one the frst choice rep found us in ibiza.
We did find a nice one in Turkey, but all the guests and the food catered for the russians and germans, and we didn't fancy that.

Finally found this one, from some obscure company on teletext - Am well happy because we got a very good price, about £1100 for 2 weeks all inclusive.
It has very very good reviews. And I have been recommended to go to the coral. It is first choice run, i.e he kids clubs, so should be o.k. for that.

Really pleased. Can't wait

johnbarrowmanlovesme · 08/02/2009 00:02

I have just realised that you booked it on teletex, will look on there
