we used Nivea Factor 50 from very young. However your absolute best policy with such a young one is to cover them in loose cotton garments, a wide brim hat, and keep them completely in the shade.

Dd had excema and we had real problems with her coming out in a rash with chemical suncream - boots,nivea,clarins,E45 and lots more!

We use mineral - not absorbed by the skin - Dr Hauschka which although expensive (but is made from quality ingredients)saved us money from half used tubes.Aveeno is meant as being good for dry skin.Haven't used the suncream as sticking with the Dr Hauschka although we have used the moisurising creams which work well.

I thought you were meant to keep them out of the sun?

Yes you are but you can't stop reflection from glass, water etc so you should always use an SPF. We use nivea.

thank you all... will of course keep out of sun etc and cover up but would like to swim with her so will need some sort of cream!

We use Bergaderm factor 30 - only needs applying once daily, and sinks in really well. I seem to remember reading that it had been developed for patients with eczema(sp)so is pretty hyopallergenic - I usually get heat rash with most of the lotions but it's a foam so really light.

can you get a small uv suit? even if its too big it will be good for swimming
