OH is being sent to Greece for the summer for work - and wants DD and I to come out and live with him, in the works apartment 20 mins from Athens,

any advice? Ive never really travelled with her alone before - or been in a strange country with a child on my own whilst he's at work.

Any advice?

Learn some Greek. You will feel really isolated if you don't have any knowledge of the lingo.

If you can, ask your local college if they run anything.

why not ask DH to enquire whether there are other english families living out there from his company? Would give you the option of making a friend before you get there, iyswim.

Google ex-pat websites for the area you are staying to get a feel for what the area is like.

I do/have done this a lot with dh and the children.
If you have a nice appt. and access to a pool it can be great. Done it in Moscow, Turkey and Bangladesh.

You lucky thing!!

oh you lucky thing. I worked in Athens for a couple of months and loved it. By the sounds of it you're likely to be away from the city by the sea which will be a bit cooler. I love Greece so much my dd1 is named after my times there (Ella - means "come here" in Greek all the kids used to shout it). You must go for it.
