I haven't, but my DH went when he was young (his Dad drove ) and he talks about it as a fab holiday.
It is somehwere I would love to go, not least because I would try and hunt down Morten Harket

We have been twice with three children under 11 - but it was always in winter. Had a fab time.

i take it they are 'child friendly'?!!
only ask cause i live in Spain where the attitudes are great but facilities awful. I got very over excited on a recent trip to Ikea which got me thinking (i know they are swedish..)

Have visited regularly since dd was 8 months old, she's now 9 and have had some fantastic trips.

Bear in mind though that the Norwegians have their own variation on the saying 'there's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing'

At times, if you waited for it to stop raining you'd never do anything. That said, I've got us some splendid waterproofs over the years, which have come in handy here too. Although, I visited in June once and had to hide from the sun.

Certainly child friendly; for example, the last train we went on had a 'family' coach with toys, DVD's etc and a play area within it. A vast improvement on the colouring book and dot-to-dot handed out here - and people don't 'tut' when your kids behave like kids.

We took our 2 boys when they were 4 and 2, stayed in a v small log cabin. Apart from the horrendous travel sickness on the ferry over we had a good time. We appreciated Norway and the boys liked the park on the holiday site!

Oh yes Twink, the trains! Have never encountered anything like it anywhere else in the world. A train with a special family carriage that had a slide in it!!!
