Can anyone recommend accommodation - am thinking self-catering flat or house - for 3 couples and 2 children in April around Lake Como?
Thanks in advance.

Ooo how lovely. Lake Como is so beautiful.

Sorry, we stayed in a small hotel quite close to Mr Clooney's pad so cant really help you on that one.

Would you recommend it? It's for my Mum's 60th so there will be my parents, my brother and his wife, me and dp with our dd1 (4) and dd2 (2).

I meant would you recommend the hotel? We're sure about wanting to go to Lake Como!

Yes it was lovely. For the life of me I cant remember its name, and I've had a quick look on some sites but not remembered just yet.

It was very near to Villa Carlotta, and tbh thats about as far up as I would go. Tremizzo or something is the nearest boat launch.

Como is a lot busier, and filled with very beautiful people !

I wouldnt go to the right hand side of the lake personally, and the middle part jutting out is a bit isolated (apologies if you know the area well ....)

We came upon the hotel by chance, driving through early evening and just booked in for the night. We were so pleased with it we booked another 4. My DCs were 4 and 7 at the time and we had a family room. Completely italian in that classic but not shabby way.

It was a young couple that ran it, lovely cotton sheets, fresh fruit for breakfast.

Oooh I so want to go there again. I'll try and track it down and post back in a few days.

We stayed in Bellagio which is about 40 minutes away from Como. Stunning place, though a little boring for a 4 year old for 2 weeks. We had self catering there in a very old large house overlooking the lake. Highly reccomend it. Pool aswell. 3 beds.

Sounds lovely Katw3kitts - and thanks for the local info too. My brother's helping me organise our trip and he has already been to the area but it's all new to me.
Thanks also shellye. Were only going for 4 days or so - no time to get bored!
Currently looking at somewhere in Pianello del Lario. Am already excited and we're not leaving for months

Have just had a look at the villa très jolie and it does look gorgeous. Don't think the apartments would be big enough for our group but perhaps for a future visit.... Thanks!
