Spain at Easter - also thinking about Calpe or Denia? Thoughts please

Have another thread going re Costa del Sol (which is still a possibility so please don't let this stop you posting on that thread). I remember someone telling me that Calpe and Denia are really nice - anyone any opinions, positive or negative?

My FIL lives in Javea which is close by. I've only been once and am not big on Spain as it's too hot for me but I did like that general area. Too long ago to remember much about it but generally lots to do, nice restaurants, beaches and lovely little villages to explore inland.
