Holiday swimwear with nappy wearing 2.7 year old!

DS is 2.7 and we're off to Fuerteventura for a week in Feb. He's still in nappies and I'm not sure what to do if re swimwear if we're spending a few hours a day by the pool. Should I put him in swimming nappies and nothing else or try and fit a nappy underneath some swimming shorts? He wears trunks with a built in lining when we go swimming here but don't think these'll be right if we around the pool for a few hours (and can't wash them out properly in the appt). Thought the all in one sun protection suit looked good but now sure how great it'll be with a bulky nappy underneath! What do other people do?

we've always put a Huggies disposable swim nappy on ds under either an all-in-one sun suit or normal swimming trunks. Works fine - the swim nappies are quite slim.

When dd was still in nappies she lived in a swimming nappy and a sunsuit on holiday.
