I say share as in you all give them, as i don't have a clue! Such as i need ideas of snacky food to take as we are staying in a hotel before we fly then need to be at the airport by 5am with a 9yo and a 18m old, what can i take for breakfast that is easily preserved??

Bagels are easy!

Re flight, we have just paid for a seat for our 14 month old so he can sit in his car seat and sleep (?).

Have fun!

I would also really appreciate travelling tips e.g. how many bottles can you take on a long haul,do they provide jars of food or should I take them on too ( clearly I will take some on just in case but it would be nice to get a heads up!) any tips on helping your baby to deal with the time difference......etc etc...

oooh i like these ideas!
re flight-we thought about that marypoppins after we'd booked it. Tried to find out about taking our own seat to use in the hire car, but couldn't get through to them, then found out on here that you can take them as luggage on easyjet, but probably too late now as we have booked one for the hire car.

J2O · 08/01/2009 20:33

Racingsnake · 10/01/2009 22:22

Can't think what they are called, but fruit purees in pouches are good. Take a roll of duct tape for taping over sockets in hotel/taping fridge doors shut, etc.

J2O · 10/01/2009 23:07

good idea racing

BoffinMum · 10/01/2009 23:14

Put them to bed in their clothes ready for the early start.

Racingsnake · 10/01/2009 23:35

Put yourself to bed in your clothes!

BoffinMum · 10/01/2009 23:42

Eat breakfast before you go to sleep!!

(Now I am being silly)

Racingsnake · 11/01/2009 00:04

No, you're not. I often have to prepare a sandwich the night before an early start so that I get something to eat inbetween organising everyone else. (I get to eat it in the car.)

balismum · 11/01/2009 00:10

you can only take shop bought packets of juice or water on in hand luggage if they have a picture of a child on (!) otherwise you have to leave them behind with other liquids. bottles for milk are ok but you may have to taste the milk.

J2O · 11/01/2009 00:52

a picture of a child!? i'm trying to work out how to get los bottle of milk on-its only cows milk though, reckon they'll sell it once we have got through?

lol at breakfast before sleep, theres a McDs on the way to the airport apparantly (dp has done his research) but i'm not convinced burger and chips are going to be great at 4am for me let alone dcs!
