Anyone flown out of a local airport and then through Heathrow with a baby?

We're flying Edinburgh-LHR-Singapore.

I'll have my buggy with me. When I was in London in November I collected my buggy at baggage re-claim. This time however, I want my buggy back (our bags will be checked from Edinburgh and we won't see them again until Singapore). I will need my buggy at Heathrow before boarding the Sinapore flight.

How do I make sure I get it back at the gate in London?

Different airlines offer different things with buggies.

I know it wouldn't be a problem for SIA, as they do it all the time. Just request it at check in. For others, can you call your airline and see what they offer. They may offer you an airline buggy for transit instead.

Hmm. We flew Manchester - Heathrow - Sydney with a baby and buggy. The buggy got left behind at Heathrow both ways, due to the swift transfer time.

All our luggage got left on the way out, but only the buggy on the way back.

I guess that's not very reassuring is it? but they did lend us a buggy at Sydney (and some lovely matching Quantas pyjamas) so it wasn't too problematic.
